In a conference call meant to update legislators on the coronavirus situation in Trenton, N.J., controversial councilwoman Robin Vaughn had an unbelievable meltdown, calling the mayor “a motherf--king drug addict pedophile” and accusing a colleague of continuing to “suck (the mayor’s) d--k."
Now, at least one activist group is calling Vaughn “unfit to serve” and is asking her to resign.
The full audio of the nearly one-hour conference call was published by The Trentonian, and it began when Vaughn was challenged by Mayor Reed Gusciora to be more specific in her criticism of so-called “do-nothing” nonprofits.
“You’re a child and you’re incompetent. And you know it,” Vaughn responded. “That’s why you’re coming after me.”
It only got more heated from there. Gusciora called Vaughn an “idiot,” which led to several minutes of insults and cuss words from the councilwoman. Vaughn claimed that Gusicora, who is openly gay, was “running around with young boys” and labelled him a “motherf--king drug addict pedophile.”
"You need to get the f--k out of office and get the f--k out of Trenton,” she added.
Vaughn also got into it with councilman Joe Harrison, calling him an “old dumbass” after he called her “ugly,” among other insults.
As the call dragged on, Vaughn told Harrison to “continue to suck Reed’s d--k.”
Vaughn has come under fire before for defending a colleague’s use of an anti-semitic slur, and the aftermath of the conference call brought more outrage. Christian Fuscarino, an executive director of LGBT advocacy group Garden State Equality, characterized Vaughn’s remarks as homophobic to The Trentonian and called her “unfit to serve the people of Trenton.”
“There’s no need to parse words here: for her hateful anti-LGBTQ language and defending the anti-Semitic slurs of others, she must resign,” he said.
Immediately after news of the conference call chaos leaked, Vaughn called for the full audio to be released. She has not commented since it became public.
